Rules
This community is for adults. Have fun, but don't be a jerk. There is a zero tolerance policy for challenging rules and searching for loopholes.
Chat
Important: Players must be a member of the Stumped Discord at all times. If you leave the Discord, we will assume that you wish to leave the Minecraft server as well.
- Try to keep your language PG-13.
- No racism, sexism, bigotry, hate speech, or excessively political and religious conversations. Brief political jokes are okay (eg: "Thanks, Obama")
- If a staff member asks you to change the topic of discussion, you must comply.
- Potentially triggering topics such as suicide, rape, etc. should be avoided.
- No spamming, begging, recruiting for your MLM, etc.
Griefing
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
- Pranks shouldn't destroy another player's items, mobs, or builds.
- PVP must be consensual.
- Don't gather resources within another player's claim or 200 block buffer. This includes chopping trees, killing mobs, and harvesting crops.
- Do not harass other players or staff.
- Leave other players alone if they ignore you in game or in the Discord.
- Do not try to contact Stumped members on other platforms without their permission (eg: Reddit, Steam, social media)
- No doxxing.
Redstone & Farms
Griefing
- Redstone machines and mechanisms should not be used to grief other players. This includes using redstone to deform/destroy a player's build or to cause excessive lag.
Lag Prevention Measures
- Place light blocks around your redstone circuits to prevent lag from lighting updates.
- Use water streams or ice block pathways instead of hopper chains, if possible.
- Cover hoppers with composters or furnaces.
- Build an off switch for deactivating redstone machines and farms. Deactivation means:
- Pistons aren't moving
- Redstone signal lines are locked to their current power
- Hoppers aren't pulling items out of a container
- Observers aren't being triggered
- Mobs aren't being spawned
- Farms should have an auto-shutoff mechanism so storage doesn't overflow.
Duping Items
- Don't exploit glitches in the game to clone/duplicate items (aka "duping.") This includes items like TNT, rails, carpet, sand, gravel, etc.
Mob Farming
- No individual gold farms, individual Endermen farms, individual Guardian farms, or AFK fishing farms
- Iron farms should be small and must have a deactivation mechanism (eg: blocking line of sight to the hostile mob.)
- Darkness-based and monster spawner farms must have a mechanism to disable spawning via lighting or flooding the spawn areas.
Flying Machines
- Don't use flying machines to grief/damage another player's items, mobs, or builds
- Flying machines must have a shutoff mechanism
- Flying machines must have their path blocked and contained within a reasonable area (no more than 8 chunks.)
Player Claims
- Do not build or gather resources outside of your claim area and 200 block buffer. Use the provided resource map and quarries for gathering beyond your claim.
- Other players' chests are off limits unless specified otherwise.
- Player bases are allowed to be visited by default. If you do not wish for players to visit your home, please let players know with signs and/or fences.
Map Rules
- No player-made roads or paths outside of your claim and 200 block buffer. Roads between adjoining player bases are okay if both players agree to it.
- No random boats, floating trees, or crafting tables left in the wild. Clean up after yourself.
- Don't make land claims in the main overworld solely for resource gathering. Use the resource world.
- Don't raid treasure areas on the main overworld map. If one happens to fall within your claim, you may use it as you wish.
- Don't build within 200 blocks of the Spawn town area.
- All nether portals must be hooked up correctly. If you need help connecting your portal, please ask a staff member! Do not touch other players' portals without permission first
- Don't build large structures on the main End island.
- Don't be greedy with raiding End cities
Protecting Your Claims
- Every player has access to the Block Inspector /co i command. This command will show all player interactions with a block or container, with timestamps. Use /co i if you suspect that someone has been messing with your stuff and report any evidence to a staff member.
- Use the Lockette plugin by placing a regular (not hanging) sign on any container, door, gate, or trapdoor to label it with your name and lock it for other players.
- Create a protected claim area by right clicking with a golden shovel.
Support Tickets
Support tickets are handled on a regular basis by staff members. Tickets can be submitted in the #support-tickets channel on the Discord.

Inactivity
- The whitelist will be periodically assessed for inactive players. You are deemed inactive if you have not logged into the Minecraft server or posted in the Discord for at least 1 month.
- Being removed for inactivity means forfeiting your build and possessions. Removing yourself from Discord will result in an automatic unwhitelisting.
- If you are removed due to inactivity, you can only return by resubmitting an application.
- Let staff know about any upcoming inactivity to reserve your spot on the whitelist.
Player Infractions
Depending on the infraction depends on the punishment. Any staff member has the ability to discern what punishment fits any rule breaking. This includes Branch Managers. You may not question or ignore a Branch Manager to wait for the opinion of a Co-Owner.
Warnings
- We will generally try to contact a player privately to issue a warning if unwanted behavior occurs. If admins are ignored or if confrontation begins, action may escalate to a temporary or permanent ban.
Temporary Bans
- Temporary bans will result in the player being unwhitelisted for a minimum of 24 hours. The player will be responsible for themselves as normal after the temporary ban. Temp banned players may continue to use the Discord, but being confrontational can lead to a permanent ban.
Permanent Bans
- You will be removed from the Discord, removed from the whitelist, and unable to return to Stumped. There is no appeal.
